Welcome to Cake Corner where quality and satisfaction are my number one priorities.

All my products are home baked, fresh for every order.  I use fresh ingredients and tried and tested recipes.  Ingredients include real butter, Belgian chocolate, fresh eggs (free range whenever possible), natural vanilla extract and freshly ground spices.  I do not add any artificial flavourings, preservatives or synthetic alternatives.  My fillings include Butter cream  -  made fresh for every order from real butter, fresh milk and high quality confectioner’s sugar – flavoured with natural vanilla extract, high quality Belgian chocolate, unsweetened cocoa and fresh lemons which are juiced and zested as required.

I ask for as much notice as possible for orders and a minimum of two weeks is required for most .
It may be possible to produce ‘last minute’ orders as I aim to please but this will depend upon the design requirements and work load at the given time.

About Julia :
My interest in Sugar craft began after the arrival of my daughter Jessica, now almost 5!!!  I began, as most enthusiasts do, with a short hobby course at my local Adult Education Centre.  Here I met  Marjory my tutor for the first time, she saw some raw talent and encouraged me to do more.  I joined the the local branch of the British Sugarcraft Guild and under Marjories wing developed some basic skills and became addicted to the craft.  After 3 terms and a few enquiries from potential customers, Marjory encouraged me to apply to Tameside College and think about setting myself up in business.  I was accepted at Tameside and met Barbara who was to be my tutor for the next two years.  This is where things got serious!  Barbara saw the same talent and potential in me and pushed me to my limits at times encouraging me all the way.  Orders began to roll in, Barbara invited me to demonstrate at her sugarcraft group to help boost my confidence and before I knew the business was born.
I now produce high quality celebration cakes and hand made toppers for my customers, give demonstrations at various groups and have been involved recently with classes at a local school.

Awards:
Julia studied for a period of two years at Tameside College,  Ashton Under Lyne, now acknowledged as a leader in the field of bakery and confectionery training following its accreditation from the National Skills Academy (NSA) for Food and Drink Manufacturing in June 2008.
Here she gained Distinctions in Level one and Level two Cake Decoration from the Awarding Body Consortium (ABC) for Royal Icing, Sugar Paste and Marzipan work.
At the end of each year the college holds its annual Food Studies Contest  where student's work is assessed by an expert panel of judges from companies such as The Association Culinaire Francaise (ACF) and Morrisons and Julia gained the following awards;

GOLD MEDAL  Royal Iced Celebration Cake
GOLD MEDAL  Marzipan Work
TABLE OF HONOUR  Best in show overall
STUDENT OF THE YEAR  Bakery and Confectionery

GOLD MEDAL  Marzipan Work
SILVER MEDAL  Sugarpasted Celebration Cake

My training has led me to accept only the best and because of this I try my utmost best to ensure customer satisfaction at every stage.
