A great birthday/celebration cake in my opinion is one that is truly personal to the person in question and their life. In this Gallery I have chosen designs to inspire you to choose a design/theme for even the most difficult subject. Contact me with your personal requirements or to discuss design possibilities.
Bursting Parcel
This large version of the bursting parcel stack was created for a 21st birthday party and the colours were chosen by the birthday girl’s mum to match her dress. The one shown here is a 10” square base with an 8” square top and would yield approximately 80 portions.
Black and White Ball
The topper for this cake is a hand modelled sugar character dressed to match the birthday girl sitting on a miniature bottle of champagne. The design is finished with glasses of champagne and confetti scattered around and a Starburst has been added for extra wow factor. This type of topper can be adapted for any character and any beverage can be substituted, you can supply your own bottle of beverage or I can supply it for you.
I have made these toppers on plaques for clients who have sent them instead of flowers or a card for all types of greeting.
Wise Old Bird
This is an adaptation of a design by Debbie Brown which I made for a tutor at Glossop Adult Education Centre. Rita taught me book keeping skills for two terms and as a thank-you for such brilliant classes we all decided to club together to buy her a gift. The class suggested a cake and I was glad to oblige. The story goes that Rita contacted members of her family for get together to share the cake and it turned out to be a great night.
Caravanning
One of my more unusual requests this one. The theme of the cake was Caravanning with the birthday girl who apparently wears nothing but bikinis and wellies whenever she is on holiday. The party was quite a large one and so a fair few portions were needed and to stay within the budget set I came up with this stacked design. Pink Brand Theme
Quite often it is difficult to choose a theme for your cake if the recipient does not have any hobbies or massive interests. However if you have a look through their wardrobe or shoe closet you may see a recurring brand that they favour and this can be used to theme a cake. Here the plaque, colour scheme and the overall look of the finished cake reflect the brand perfectly. |
